Trend Tracker, which is tracking repair volumes to understand and predict motor claims volumes using data from one of their Data & Media Partners, Audatex, said repair volumes in June were at 93% June 2019 levels. The month finished with more than 137,000 repairs – higher than May 2021 repair volumes which was only at 73%.
“The big news today from a repair volumes perspective is that June finished with over 130k repairs, coming in at 93% of June 2019,” said Paul Sell, Associate Director of Industry Insights, new owners of Trend Tracker, “a big jump from the 73% of 2019 that May brought, it certainly felt like a busy month and this data confirms it!”
“Let’s hope this is a start of a return to the work levels that are much needed across the industry.”
Paul said Trend Tracker predicted an increase in repair volumes, reflecting the tracked information about traffic levels being almost back to pre-pandemic levels. “With traffic patterns being different it was hard to accurately forecast and 93% of June 2019 was at optimistic levels,” he said. “Could June be the start of the bounce-back the industry needs, a summer spike or the start of the new normal?”
