It is with great sadness that the bodyshop industry remembers Andy Smith, who has sadly passed away following a long and respected career spanning Akzo Nobel and BASF, and then taking on the role of branch manager of MKPE and following its acquisition, LKQ, before retiring and moving to Scotland. Over many years, Andy became a familiar and highly regarded figure across the industry, earning the respect and friendships of colleagues, customers and partners alike.

Justin Elliot, LKQ EUROPE Bodyshop Strategy Director and former shareholder of MKPE, said: “Andy was hardworking, loyal and completely committed to both his work and the people around him. He brought energy, integrity and professionalism to everything he did, and he was always willing to go the extra mile to support colleagues and customers alike. More than that, he was a genuinely good person who made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to work with him. He will be greatly missed, and our thoughts are with his wife, Joan, and all of his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
