NBRA member BASF Coatings UK recently hosted another group of engineers from 1st Central Insurance at its Technical Paint Awareness Workshop.
Led by Rob Linehan, Automotive Refinish Trainer, the session combined classroom learning and live demonstrations covering digital colour identification, modern paint repair processes, blending techniques, and the requirements of today’s vehicle technologies, including ADAS systems, radar sensors and EVs.
A key focus was how sustainable products and low-energy repair processes can help bodyshops, repair networks and insurers reduce environmental impact while maintaining high-quality repair standards.
The workshop sparked valuable discussions around improving repair outcomes and supporting wider sustainability goals across the sector.
